Ikea will test a new approach in Switzerland that will offer kitchen and office furniture for lease. Once the lease term is concluded, the customer would return the items to Ikea, which will refurbish and sell or lease the furniture once again. Ikea, which has been the subject of criticism for the massive amount of material its products contribute to landfills around the world, is looking for ways to extend the lifecycle of products.
